Suspects arrested in string of Burlington vandalism cases

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said four suspects were arrested after being accused of a string of vandalism cases in Burlington including damaging mailboxes and lamp posts.
Elijah Akabar Motley, 16, and Abraham Banda Perez, 20, both of Burlington, are each charged with 11 counts of injury to personal property, officials said. Police said Perez also received one count of injury to real property.
Police said two juveniles were also involved, but their named are withheld because of age.
Police said they have received more than over 50 reports of vandalism around West Davis Street, West Front Street, Willowbrook Drive, Glenwood Avenue, Harriet Drive and the surrounding areas.
Officers said they also responded to Williams High School for multiple windows and light posts being damaged. Authorities said they started investigating on July 2.
Authorities said Motley received a $4,000 secured bond and Perez a $5,000 secured bond.
