HIGH POINT, N.C. -- One local business is getting ready to host a Mitt Romney campaign stop Sunday in High Point.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. at Absolute Style Furniture on West Green Drive and Romney is scheduled to speak at 1 p.m.
Melanie McNamara said her business has been very busy preparing for the event.
"Wow, I hosted other events for other politicians but this is the biggie," she said.
McNamara said High Point is the ideal pit stop for the presidential candidate.
"If you look down this street there is a lot of for sale signs, a lot of empty factories, there's very few businesses remaining here," she said. "This is the very message. The very reason Romney is running to revitalize this country."
But Democrats aren't letting Romney's campaign have all of North Carolina's spotlight this weekend.
A bus that is part of the Democratic National Convention is rolling through North Carolina.
"He claims he is a business man who will turn the economy around, but if the business experience he brought to Massachusetts is what he is going to bring to the Oval office North Carolina small businesses are in trouble," said Kathi-Anne Reinstein (D) Mass. Representative.
