Warnings canceled after storms move through Piedmont

A series of storms left thousands of people without power Wednesday afternoon in the Piedmont Triad.

Duke Energy is reporting over 4,500 outages in Guilford County as of 5 p.m.

No warning or watches are currently in effect after the storms moved from the Virginia line to the Southern Piedmont.

Randolph County’s severe thunderstorm warning expired around 4:45 p.m.

Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm over Alamance around 3:39 p.m.,, or about 7 miles southeast of Graham. The storm then moved southeast at 30 mph.
