Deputies investigating death of 7-month-old in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of an infant in Davidson County. 

Sheriff David Grice said dispatchers received a call Friday morning regarding an unresponsive 7-month-old inside a home on Sunny Lane off Cunningham Road. 

The infant was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, Grice said. 

Grice said there were no signs of trauma, but deputies are looking into “circumstances that may be of concern.” 

An autopsy is being performed, Grice said. 

The child’s mother and two other children were inside the home when the baby died, Grice said. 

No other details were immediately available.
