Teen charged in Winston-Salem home invasion

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested following a home invasion on Palm Drive in June.

On Tuesday, police arrested David Lee Leach, of 2715 Piedmont Circle, charging him with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, common law robbery, larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of unlawfully obtaining a credit card and two counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

According to police, Leach and other suspects entered a home at 832 Palm Drive on June 29, assaulted the residents and then stole electronics and the victims wallets.

Leach was place in the Forsyth County Jail and is being held under a $200,000 bond.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
