FORSYTH CO., N.C. -- Pepsi has chosen a building in Union Cross Business Park in Winston-Salem for its operational expansion in the Triad, the company said Friday.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported the company confirmed what it had pledged in its local incentive request, saying it will spend at least $81.7 million on new equipment and property over seven years.

The company currently operates on Myer Lee Drive, off Business 40 and said it was considering multiple sites in the Triad for the expansion.

Although the company said it would retain its local workforce of 307 with the expansion, it did not say how many new jobs would be created. In a legal notice filed by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, the company said it would add at least 198 jobs.

Pepsi Bottling did say it would be adding jobs through consolidating operations into the new plant at 390 Business Park Drive.
