FORSYTH CO., N.C. -- A historic tree believed to be 400 years old fell to the ground this weekend during strong storms in Forsyth County.

Officials said the old white oak split apart when a strong gust of wind blew threw it. The tree was about 80 feet tall and neighbors said they will miss seeing it.
