Surveillance photos of Thomasville jewelry store robbery released

THOMASVILLE, N. C. – On Monday, police released still images from a surveillance camera that caught a jewelry store robbery on tape, last week.

According to a press-release, the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and Yadkinville Police Department are now assisting in the investigation of the armed robbery that took place at Avis Fine Jewelry.

Authorities report that a similar armed robbery that took place in Yadkinville on April 12.

Last Thursday, police responded to 709 Randolph Street, after receiving reports of an armed robbery at approximately 6 p.m.

Police reported that three females and one male, all Hispanic, entered the store near closing time and acted as if they were shopping.  One of the female suspects brandished a handgun, forced employees to the rear of the business, while the other suspects gathered money and merchandise.

The suspects left the scene in one of the employee’s vehicle in an unknown direction.

No one was harmed during the incident.

Police were unable to provide descriptions of the suspects.

Police described the vehicle as a 2009 Toyota Camry, gray in color, and with North Carolina tags # MVX-1226.
