Child struck by vehicle in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A downtown Greensboro roadway was temporarily closed after a child was reportedly struck by a vehicle Thursday morning.
According to Greensboro police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen, the child was taken to Moses Cone Hospital to be treated for a compound fracture to his ankle after being struck on Freeman Mill Road near West Terrell Street.
The child stepped into the northbound lanes while chasing a dog and was struck by a pickup truck, Danielsen said.
Charges are not expected to be filed.
The northbound lanes of Freeman Mill Road were closed at West Terrell Street for about one hour after the collision.
