HIGH POINT, N.C. — Three people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision involving a plumbing truck and an SUV on Eastchester Drive in High Point.
The crash, which involved a Jimmy’s Plumbing truck and a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, happened on Highway 68 West near the dam at Oak Hollow Lake shortly after 1 p.m.
Witnesses said the SUV swerved into the path of the truck, but it was not clear what caused the SUV to swerve.
The driver of the plumbing truck was knocked unconscious and temporarily trapped inside the vehicle, which came to a rest in the far-right westbound lane of the highway.
The SUV, which had Montana tags, was occupied by its lone driver. The truck was occupied by one other aside from the driver.
All three victims were taken to an area hospital with injuries. Their conditions are currently unknown.
