Stanly Co. man arrested after break-in

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. – Deputies responded to a home located on N.C. 47 after receiving reports of a suspicious was walking around the homeowner’s property.

On Monday, deputies arrested Reginald L. Brown, 33 of Stanly County, after he attempted to break into an occupied home.

According to deputies, Brown searched outbuildings on the property and found a hammer which he used to break into a bedroom window, where two children were sleeping.  An adult resident of the home began screaming at Brown, who then fled the scene in his vehicle.

Brown was apprehended by deputies during a traffic stop on N.C. 47.

Brown was charged with two-counts of breaking and entering, larceny, littering and driving while license was revoked.

Brown is being held under a $45,000 secured bond.
