GREENSBORO, N.C. -- On Tuesday, city leaders appointed Interim City Manager Denise Turner Roth as the city's first female City Manager.

According to Greensboro Mayor Robbie Perkins, "Roth’s breadth of experience and the leadership she has shown in the interim position [has] set her apart from a national pool of candidates. “

“She has a great understanding of the City’s priorities and what it is going to take to help us accomplish our goals," said Perkins.

Roth has held the Interim City Manager position since December 2011 and recently  played a role in developing and balancing the City’s $449 million fiscal year budget.
