BURLINGTON, N.C. — City leaders have postponed public discussion on the proposed changes to a smoking ban on Tuesday.

According to a Burlington Times-News article, city leaders felt  that proposed changes to the city’s current smoking ban were written in a manner that would prevent enforcement.

The proposed changes would ban smoking in businesses that neighbor smoke free establishments which are connected by air vents.

The proposal will be revised and an opportunity for public discussion will be added to the agenda of a future meeting.
