Former assistant principal charged with sexual exploitation
RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies have charged a former Randolph County middle school’s assistant principal with two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor Friday.
Myron Padgett Hendrix, 54, of 1879 Bellmont Alamance Road in Burlington, was arrested after an investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children task force, officials said.
Randolph County Schools Superintendent Donald E. Andrews said Hendrix retired from his position as the assistant principal of Northeast Randolph Middle School in Liberty on May 18.
Deputies said the alleged victim was not a student at the school. Specific details were not released.
Deputies said Hendrix was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
Authorities said Randolph County Schools and Randolph County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers assisted in the investigation.
