One killed, another seriously injured in accident on Highway 29

GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person is dead and another seriously injured following an accident on Highway 29 in Greensboro early Thursday morning.

Police said the driver of a Pontiac Grand Prix lost control of their car near Phillips Ave. just after midnight.

The car ran off the road, flipped several times and crashed into a guardrail.

The passenger inside the car was killed and the driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The victims have not been identified.

The southbound lanes of Highway 29 were closed for a short period of time while police investigate the accident. The road has since reopened.
