GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- Inspectors from the health department have been making rounds to see if are pools are in top shape in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Chemicals in the water and pool equipment are among the many things inspected. Gregg Everett Greensboro's Aquatic Life Coordinator knows this process all too well and so far 3 out of the 5 the pools in Greensboro are not ready for inspection.

"We are completing our final checks right now. We've got a few mechanical things we are checking up on right now. Two pools have had plastering jobs," Everett said.

In High Point, inspections are completed at the city's two public pools, but overcrowding has some worried.

The city says lifeguards' will walk around the pool instead of sitting at designated areas.

Greensboro's public pools open at 1 p.m. on Saturday. High Point public pools open at noon.
