Woman arrested in Burlington stabbing

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A woman was arrested after police said she stabbed another woman at a home Friday night in Burlington.

Jessica Shantay Neal, 24, of Burlington, allegedly cut the upper chest of her 23-year-old victim with a knife around 6:30 p.m. at 322 Austin St.

Police said the victim was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center and has since been treated and released.

Neal’s listed address is 360 Austin St., a short distance from the home of the alleged attack.

Neal was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing. No other details were released.
