CLEMMONS, N.C. — Two people were injured after their car was hit by a Jeep and sent crashing into a home Saturday morning in Clemmons.

Jim and Becky Cole were heading south on Stadium Drive around 7:30 a.m. and were about to make a left turn into their driveway when their car was struck from behind by a Jeep.

The impact of the crash sent them off the road into a neighbor’s house at 6033 Stadium Drive.

The Jeep was following too closely and the driver will be charged with failure to reduce speed, said Trooper Motsinger with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The Coles were transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

According to WFBMC,  Jim Cole is considered in fair condition and Becky Cole is in serious condition.

Becky Cole is scheduled for surgery to remove a piece of metal from the car that is embedded in her foot, according to a family friend.

Witnesses of the accident said the couple in the Jeep did not sustain any injuries.
