TOPEKA, Kan. — A convicted murderer and another inmate who escaped from a Kansas jail remained on the loose Thursday, as authorities scoured the region for the missing prisoners.

Eric James, 23, is also missing, the agency reported. James was convicted in 2009 of three counts of aggravated burglary and one count of kidnapping.

The men are considered armed and dangerous, and their whereabouts are currently unknown, officials said.

Two other men who escaped with them have since been apprehended.
