Recipe: Apple Tart Flan Tart

1 Sheet Puff Pastry Dough
2 each Gala or Granny Smith Apples
Granulated Sugar Enough for sprinkling
Cinnamon for dusting
Powdered Sugar for dusting

Flan

1 cup Half & Half
2 each Whole Eggs
4 Tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Combine all ingredients and set aside. (use a blender, it works much easier)

Cut Puff dough into 4 pieces, trim the edges off of all sides of the dough. With a fork, place holes in the dough. This will allow the dough to rise evenly. Egg wash the dough and place the trimmed edges back on the dough.

Peel, core, slice in half and then thinly slice the apple halves and place on the Puff Dough in the center. Sprinkle the apples with the sugar and the cinnamon. Bake at 400 for approximately 20 minutes until puff dough is golden in color and apple edges are caramelized.

Remove from oven, turn the temperature down to 350 degrees and pour the Flan mix over the apples. Place them back in the oven and back for approximately 3 minutes until the custard is set. Remove from the oven and dust with Powdered Sugar
