NC man gets life for 2010 robbery death

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man accused in the shooting death of a Mecklenburg County man more than two years ago has been sentenced to life in prison.

The Charlotte Observer reported that 21-year-old Michael Leon King was convicted Tuesday after a six-day trial in Charlotte.

Police said 25-year-old Jared Bolli was shot during a robbery attempt at his apartment in Pineville in January 2010.

Superior Court Judge Yvonne Mims Evans sentenced King to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
