GREENSBORO, N.C. -- With tax Tuesday just around the corner, procrastinators like Stacey Brown have been running to accountants for help.

"This is probably the latest. I was looking at my calendar, and for some reason I was like, 'April 15--ooh, that's next week.' Actually that's Sunday," said Brown, who actually studied accounting at N.C. A&T University.

"People say, 'You don't do your own taxes? I'm like, 'No.' Some things you just let a professional do for you," Brown said.

Brown has been seeing his accountant, George Navarro, for two years.

"He's very accurate, and he answers all my questions clearly and then follows up with any items that may be of question," said Brown.

Accountants throughout the Piedmont are pulling some long hours this tax season.

"We try to do as much as we can for the client all the way up to midnight of the 17th. Then after that we close the doors on the 18th and take the day off and take a breather," Navarro said.
