STATESVILLE, N.C. — Authorities in Iredell County said a Statesville man is facing 122 counts stemming from the sexual assault of a girl spanning 11 years.
The Statesville Record & Landmark reported Christopher Charles Harris, 39, is charged with 44 counts each of taking indecent liberties with a minor and first-degree sex offense, 12 counts of statutory rape/sex offense, 20 counts of first-degree rape and one count each of second-degree rape and second-degree sexual offense.
Harris is jailed in lieu of a $200,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately known if Harris has an attorney.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said a report was filed regarding a young girl who had been sexually assaulted beginning in 1998 and ending in 2009. Investigators said the victim told them the assaults occurred throughout the county.
