Man, 77, dies in wreck in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A 77-year-old man died of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon in Burlington.

Clyde Donald Sipe, of Mebane, died after the wreck at the intersection of West Front Street and Tarpley Street around 3:40 p.m.

Burlington Police said a car traveling east on Tarpley Street ran a stop sign and collided with a van traveling north on West Front Street.

The driver of the van and the three people in the car were all taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

Sipe, one of the passengers in the car, died at the hospital, police said.

No charges have been filed. Police are still investigating.
