FOX8 wins two regional Emmys

FOX8 picked up two Emmys at the 26th Annual Regional Emmy Awards in Nashville.

Producer/videographer David Weatherly received an award for the FOX8 Family Christmas Special. Bob Buckley and photographer Eric Sander received an Emmy for the specialty assignment report “Often Awesome.”

WGHP was nominated for nine Emmys, the most nominations of any station in the Piedmont.

The station was also one of five nominated in the News Excellence category in the MidSouth Regional Emmy Awards.

Reports on the High Point plane crash received a nomination in the Continuing Coverage category. The Roy’s Folks series on the Blue Ridge Parkway received a nomination in Light Feature-News Series.

Senior reporter Bob Buckley received three nominations for his reports: Often Awesome, The Runner and He’s My Black Panther.

Two FOX8 photographers also received nominations. Chris Weaver received a nomination for his editing, while Eric Sander received a nomination for his photography.
