BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington Police arrested a man on a second-degree rape charge on Thursday.

Martrez Davon Evans, 28, was arrested in connection with a sexual assault investigation from early March.

A 26-year-old female went to the hospital March 4 to report a sexual assault on Cates Avenue the previous evening, police said. The woman received treatment at the hospital for the alleged sexual assault, police said.

Warrants for Evans’ arrest were obtained on Thursday, and Evans later turned himself in, police said. He was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.
