Best Buy apologizes for porn shown on televisions

Best Buy Greenville, South Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Best Buy officials are apologizing after some unsuspecting customers in South Carolina saw inappropriate images on big-screen televisions.

WSPA reported Gloria Berg was looking at the store’s 55-inch smart televisions when a pornographic photo of a man and a woman popped up.

Berg said the image was up for several minutes before managers took it down. Berg said a store manager told her the same thing had happened the night before their visit.

The station could not get a comment from local management but received a statement from Best Buy’s corporate office:

Two individuals accessed our store’s wireless signal to broadcast inappropriate content on a smart television display. In both cases, we worked immediately to disable the inappropriate content. We greatly apologize for this unfortunate incident, and we are working to ensure that it does not happen again.
