WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a home burglary early Wednesday morning where two women in their 80s live.

Otto Mouzon Steele III, 42, was arrested after an incident on Kentucky Avenue around 2 a.m.

Winston-Salem Police said the victims were asleep at home when the suspect removed a window air conditioner and entered.

One of the victims tried to confront the suspect, but the suspect shoved her out of the way, police said.

The suspect then went through the home and fled on foot, police said.

Winston-Salem investigators identified Steele as the suspect, and police found him on Fourth Street and North Trade Street around noon.

However, police said Steele tried to resist and fight officers during the arrest.

As a result, the suspect was shocked with a stun gun, police said.

Steele was charged with first-degree burglary. He was given a $250,000 secured bond, and his trial date was set for March 9.
