DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Lexington man has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon after deputies say he hit an 18-year-old in the face with a drinking glass.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, Jonathan Alfred Ramirez Sr., 53, struck Jonathan Lee Hicks in the face with a glass cup at his home on Jolly Road on Jan. 24. The injury required 50 stitches, deputies said.
Investigators considered the drinking glass to be a deadly weapon and charged Ramirez with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
The suspect was jailed under a $50,000 secured bond and has a court date set for March 22.
