State Sen. Linda Garrou to retire

State Sen. Linda Garrou (D - 32nd Dist.)

A state senator representing Forsyth County since 1999 is not seeking re-election.

Linda Garrou, a former high school teacher, made her announcement in a news release Tuesday.

“It has been my honor to serve the great people of Winston-Salem,” Garrou said in the statement. “I am so grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received through the years.”

The headline to the statement said she is retiring. Garrou, a Democrat, serves in the 32nd District.
