A Fayetteville teen blew away the American Idol judges the first time with his inner Michael Jackson. He did it again Wednesday night with his inner Celine Dion.

David Leathers Jr., 17, sang “Because You Love Me” by Celine Dion in the first part of the Hollywood Round on Tuesday. He advanced easily as his performance caused the judges to sit in awe and applaud.

“How does that happen? I have ties that are older than you are. Wow. You saw it here,” Steven Tyler said.

Many of the contestants sitting in the audience also stood and applauded after his performance.

Leathers started off the show’s 11th season on Jan. 18 with a powerful rendition of “Remember The Rain” by 21st Century.

The Hollywood Round continues Thursday at 8 p.m. only on FOX8.
