Woman, 19, killed in High Point car wreck

A woman was killed after police said she lost control of her car and struck a telephone pole Saturday morning in High Point.

Christina Elizabeth Brelsford, 19, of High Point, was driving a 1999 Honda south on Elm Street near Church Avenue around 3:49 a.m., police said.

The car hit the pole and also hit a nearby building after that, officials said. Police said she was the only person in the car.

She was pronounced dead after being taken to High Point Regional Hospital for serious injuries.
