House Fire Displaces Family of Four in Forsyth Co.

A family of four lost their home after a house fire Saturday morning in Forsyth County.

The blaze was reported around 8:30 a.m. at 8720 Fieldcreek Farms Road in Germanton. Sixty firefighters and emergency officials from six departments had the situation under control by about 10 a.m.

No injuries were reported. Officials said the family was able to evacuate after hearing fire alarms and smelling smoke.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Investigators said the fire may have started in the garage before spreading to the house.

The home received an estimated $200,000 worth of damage. Authorities said the house’s contents are a total loss.

The family consisted of two adults and two children. The Red Cross, friends and family are reportedly helping the victims.
