WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem Police are investigating the death of a wheelchair-bound man as a homicide.

Officers found Clarence Joseph Hart, 36, dead around 12 p.m. Friday in his home on Talcott Avenue, police said.

Nurses, who routinely visited his home, called police after Hart didn’t answer the door.

Police said it appears Hart, who is handicapped, was shot with some sort of firearm.

Police said little else about the investigation in a news release late Friday night.
