Deputies: Lexington woman stole checks and money orders

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A woman was arrested after deputies said she stole checks and money orders from a home in Lexington while the victim was away.

Kimberly Faulk Hege, 53, of Lexington, allegedly took the property from a residence on Yadkin College Road. Deputies started investigating Jan. 7.

Deputies said she forged the victim’s name on the checks and money orders and uttered them at businesses in the area.

Hege was charged with larceny of chose in action, forgery of instrument, uttering of forged instrument, obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny.

She was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and has a Feb. 28 court date in Lexington.
