Burlington Man Charged With Robbing Pizza Worker

One man was arrested and another still wanted after a pizza delivery employee was robbed at a home Wednesday morning in Burlington.

Derrick Montel Madkins, 19, of Burlington, and another unidentified suspect allegedly stole two pizzas and a cricket cell phone from a Papa John’s Pizza worker around 1:20 a.m. on Clay Street.

Police said one of the suspects punched the 37-year-old victim in the face.

Burlington Police said Madkins was found walking on South Mebane Street near Avon Avenue shortly after the crime.

Police brought the victim to the suspect and Madkins was identified as one of the robbers, authorities said.

Madkins was charged with common law robbery and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

He was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $7,500 secured bond. Other details were not released.
