The Daytona 500 is still a weeks away, but a racing team from the Piedmont Triad is preparing to take the famous Florida racetrack by storm.

Three G Motorsports is a locally-owned business that will be competing in the Grand AM division’s 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend.

The Greensboro-based company is taking five Porches to Daytona for the race, which they helped their client win in 2011.  They will have five cars among 60 competing in the event, which is set to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday.
