GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say three would-be teenage burglars were arrested shortly after they were scared away by a homeowner Saturday evening in Greensboro.

According to a news release, the attempted burglary happened at 1501 Wenchelsa Road around 8:15 p.m. Responding officers found a door that had been forced open and also learned that the homeowner had “frightened away” the suspects, police said.

Police said officers “quickly” canvassed the area and found Justin Jordan, 17, Jerlvonte Milbourne, 18, and Savion Barnes, 18, nearby.

The teens were each arrested and charged with attempted first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools, and possession of marijuana.

They were each jailed under $500,000 bonds.

No injuries were reported.
