ATM Service Worker Shot in Armored Car Robbery in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating an armored car robbery that left an ATM service worker wounded Monday morning in Charlotte.

The robbery happened at an ATM in the Foxcroft Shopping Center in SouthPark around 8:45 a.m.

According to WSOCTV.com, police said one of two employees in the armored car stepped out to service the ATM when she was shot in the shoulder.

The driver of the armored car started toward the hospital after the robbey, but pulled over at the corner of Providence Road and Cavendish Court so nearby EMS could treat the woman’s injury.

Nearby Charlotte Country Day School was temporarily locked down after the shooting.

It was not clear if any suspects are in custody.
