High Point man critically wounded in Lexington shooting

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A High Point man is in critical condition after police said he was shot Wednesday evening in Lexington.

Howard Ellis was found with a single gunshot wound to his stomach after officers responded to reports of a shooting at 509-B Holt St. around 7:15 p.m., according to a news release.

The victim was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition as of 3 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators currently have no suspects, police said.
