Renovations at Piedmont Target stores will lead to the employment of dozens more people.

The Targets on New Garden Road in Greensboro and in Burlington need 15 new people to begin the renovation process the day after Christmas. The Target on University Parkway in Winston-Salem needs 20-25 people.

Store team leader Steve Page said they are hiring right now and were actually conducting some interviews Tuesday afternoon. Page said this is pretty late in the season for retail stores to hire.

“Typically we finish that up before Black Friday. We have everybody in place, trained and ready to go, so now we’re going with the supplemental hiring,” Page said.

The full-time positions are mostly during the overnight shift. Page said they plan to start training with the new hires within the next couple of weeks.

The new hires will have the chance to stay with the company even after the renovations are finished, Page said.

Once the renovations at these locations are finished, the process will begin at three more area Targets in March.

The biggest changes in the renovation will be more meat, fruits, vegetables and beer.
